HYPNOBIRTHING PRACTITIONER AT FULWOOD THERAPY CENTRE
HypnoBirthing is a complete childbirth education package aimed at women who wish to have calm, relaxed and often pain free labour and childbirth. Hypnobirthing teaches women how to achieve deep relaxation for childbirth by self hypnosis, guided imagery, visualisation and special breathing. It enables women to take control of their birthing experience and their partners to have a clear role in the birth of their baby.
Research has shown that HypnoBirthing can help to give a more relaxed and enjoyable pregnancy. It eliminates or reduces the need for conventional pain relief methods, shortens the first stage of labour and creates a calm, peaceful birth experience free from fear. It alleviates fatigue allowing the new mother to have more energy for the birth and reduces the incidence of post natal depression and ensures a quicker post natal recovery and relaxed newborn.

Hypnosis does not mean that the mother will be out of control or unaware of their surroundings. It achieves a state of deep relaxation which allows the body to do what it is designed to do without the interference of catecholamine which inhibits labour and causes pain.
The HypnoBirthing Practitioner
Sue is a mother of four and a registered nurse and midwife. She is passionately committed to helping women achieve the natural birth that they plan for with the help of their partner.
The course is held at Fulwood Therapy Centre. No more than four couples are in any course. Couples should aim to start the course between 24-30 weeks of pregnancy so that there is plenty of time to practice.
