What to expect during a treatment
The therapist will go through a few medical details with you before hand, to ensure that head massage is suitable for you.
You will then be seated in a chair, you do not need to remove any clothing as massage can easily be done over your clothes, although sometimes it helps your therapist if you wear fairly loose clothing that moves well over your body.
Your therapist should discuss how the massage works and it is important for you to raise any questions with her/him, as the therapists main concern is for you to have an effective and enjoyable massage. Sometimes oils can be used as part of your massage, it helps the therapists hands move over you scalp and when oil is absorbed through the pores of the skin is can have other effects internally as well as externally, it also strengthens the hair and softens the scalp.
The massage should be enjoyable, if the pressure is too hard/light please advice your therapist he/she should make changes to the treatment for your comfort. Feedback any other information about moves you liked/disliked so any future massage sessions can be adapted for you.
Length of Treatment 30/40 minutes
Cost - £18.50
Aftercare
Toxins in your body will have been moved around and your lymphatic drainage system will be trying to remove them. To help this along, do the following:
Drink plenty of water or herbal tea
Avoid alcohol
Eat a light diet
Try to relax for the rest of the day
Avoid coffee and tea
Take note of how you feel over the following 36 hours of a treatment and report them back to your therapist on your next visit. Old emotions or ailments may surface for a small time, you may feel more tired than usual, or you may feel a bit cold, do not worry about this, this is your bodies way of cleansing itself and should not last more than 24/36 hours, if it does, it is unlikely to be as a result of the treatment, and you should consult your doctor as normal.
